The Right to Bear Arms…

I host a weekly satirical socio/political talk show… and for over a year now I have been talking about the purpose of the 2 nd amendment, and what would eventually happen if Americans feel they are being denied the liberty to pursue happiness. Moreover, what will be the result of a populace that perceives it’s government as working for Capitol interests, and not their own.

I am of the mind that the reason the Right to Bear Arms exists is because those who founded our country realized the need for government to fear it’s citizenry… Not the other way around… and keep in mind that while I am neither condoning nor condemning any course of action that would take lives, I *DO* realize that without blood having been spilled there would be no America.

Before Joe Stack pulled a “Cory Lidle” into the IRS building… there had already been a rash of pre-meditated violence around the country …usually it had been directed at either family or former co-workers… I have maintained that as more otherwise civilized, lucid, hard working Americans have their lives, and livelihoods taken away from them (whether it’s by their own bad decisions, or through a circumstance beyond their control) …They will act out against the people who they *really* feel are responsible…. LEGISLATORS.

As a NJ resident… I see the results of government corruption and collusion every day… The typical NJ resident’s property taxes are 3X the national average…. There are people who are being put out of their homes because they have either gotten sick, or because the oppression of the tax system has eclipsed what would have been an otherwise affordable mortgage… People are losing their jobs, *AND* the opportunity to seek other employment…They are trying to stay afloat by spending their retirement money.. And there are predatory members of state government who are capitalizing on this impropriety…

As banks become more powerful, and politicians collude to make them so…working people will have little recourse…

While I don’t believe that “forming militias” as it states in the 2 nd amendment will be a viable option in the traditional sense, the internet provides disenfranchised people the opportunity to network. People are angry, and rightfully so. … Personally I would not be surprised that if on the heels of Joe Stack, that there will be a series of state and local politicians who wound up answering for their crimes out of court, where they contribute to a system designed to protect them…

How long must law abiding citizens be raped by two party tyranny? Americans are increasingly feeling Disempowered… and if history is any barometer, vigilantism will be the resulting counteraction. It is very arguable that we can’t vote our way out of this…Perhaps if a few Senators and Congressmen see their colleagues in the obituaries prematurely…they might become less inclined to capitulate to political lobbies and special interest groups in return for money and favors at the expense of those who voted them into office…

How else can Americans counteract a system that allows politicians and CEO’s to not only walk free, but live with their stolen wealth when they should be either put in jail, or shot for treason? In the words of a disempowered, unfortunate, and unnecessarily deceased Joe Stack, and perhaps also spoken by those who signed our Constitution, “Nothing Changes Unless There’s a Body Count”

But I hope it never comes to this…although I am not betting on it.
